What you need to know about the Scottish Government’s plans for the development of a National Care Service

On 21st June 2022 the Scottish Government published the ‘National Care Service (Scotland) Bill’ as the first step in establishing a National Care Service across Scotland. The Bill allows Scottish Ministers to transfer social care responsibility from local authorities and healthcare functions from the NHS and health boards to a new National Care Service.
