What was in the government’s policy update (re. their proposed Social Care Reforms) on 4th March?

On 4th March the government published 3 documents which put some detailed meat on the bones of what is already known about the government’s proposals, as well as highlighting some of the not insignificant challenges local authorities will face in delivering their statutory responsibilities in future.

As usual, our Technical Director, Tony Miles was on it immediately, perusing all the details, and has producing the following summary. It focusses on an area which continues to lead to confusion and is often misrepresented by politicians, commentators and the media, and that is, what payments do and do not count towards the proposed £86,000 cap.

We hope you find this briefing document useful, giving you an informed overview of the government’s plans, and keeping you up to date with the details you need.
